Hi all
Looks like I might have to play a few videos in the next show.

So dug out a few small videos, both mp4 and mov

They play in VLC, sorted some that would play in Quicktime as well

Added then in functions but they don't play, just a black window.
Using 4.13.0

What is the trick ?

Hi,

First of all, on vlc you can check what codecs are used for each video you are using (menu : Tools/codecs informations ; Ctrl+J).

Secondly, it depends on what OS you are using :

- On Windows : try installing the corresponding codecs. (for that, i may recomment you to look at ffmpeg or K-Lite Codec Pack)
- On Linux : try installing ffmpeg and check installing or uninstalling gstreamer.
- On Mac : i don't know.

If nothing works, you can also convert the video using vlc.

What OS are you using? If you're using Windows and you have the ability to convert your videos to WMV, they will play fine in QLC+. WMV is the default Windows video format. It doesn't require any additional CODECs.

OK good, converted my test file in VLC, QuickTime Player refuses to play it now, VLC plays it and so does QLC !!

Maybe we need some notes in the doco ?

So off to make some videos and figure how to use them

Thanks
