Q Light Controller+

Hi all
I have 2 problems I am running out of time to solve and quick search doesn't seem to help.

I have a small theatre with 20 fixtures, lights and dimmers. all good on DMX and cabling limits and all the hardware stuff.

Cross fade
I have set up my scenes as I want them, the problem, end of the first act I want a nice sharp cut off and a slow fade up of the house lights. I have set the scenes up in a "solo" box under "virtual console" but then I am lost as how to get the acting scene to the sharp close and a slow fade in of the interval, hints please.

Pulsing a switch
Part of the rig is a DMX switch that switches on a couple of pumps for a water feature, I have a motor running to make another noise but I want to be able to pulse it on and off at second intervals sort of thing. Had a quick look at chases and sequences but not sure I understood either, never mind getting what I want.

At the end of your chaser add 2 more scenes: 'sharp cut off' and 'house lights'. In the step before those, you set the time to infinite. Now you have to trigger the next step manually. Set fade times to your liking. (I personally am fond of 160ms as it mimics candescent after-glow with leds.) Zero hold time. So when the GO+ is pressed, your lights turn off and house lights come up.

2 scenes, on and off. Put them in a chaser and have the chaser loop itself. Easy.

Option 1.
Create a new (standard) frame on your VC and cut&Paste your solo frame into it. Now add a slider to that Frame and set it up as Submaster (third tab on your slider properties screen).
With this slider you now can control the level of the scenes that are in your solo frame.
To "sharp close" your running scene just turn it off (by pushing the same button that started it). Now put your slider to zero, start your new scene and move the slider up (as fast/slow as you want it to fade in).

Option 2.
Add a Speed Dial to your VC and add the scenes from your Solo Frame to it.
By default Fade in Factor and Fade Out Factor are set to "(Not Sent)"and your Duration Factor is set to 1 (meaning it will control the Duration of your Scenes, but it will leave the Fade In and Fade Out unaffected) .
If you change Fade In and Fade Out to 1 and set Duration to "(Not Sent)", you now have created a Speed Dial that only controls Fades.
Now (on the last Tab) create a few Presets: No Fade (time = zero), Fast Fade (time = 1 s), Slow Fade (time = 5s).
With No Fade = On stop your running scene, Set Slow Fade and start your new scene.

These are just two examples to give you a jump start.

Just some remarks:
- you can set the Factors (fade In, Fade Out, Duration) for each Scene as you want it.
If you don't want a scene to Fade set the Factor to Zero, if you want one scene to Fade Faster than the others set the Factor to 1/2 or 1/4.
- you can also use 2 speed dials next to each other, one to only control Duration (set Fade In and Fade Out to (not Sent) ) and one to control Fades (set duration to (Not Sent)).

Assuming your house lights are on a separate DMX channel, the simplest way to bump your stage a fade up house is to create a scene with just the house lights, place it after your last scene of act 1 in your chase. If you include your stage lights in the scene to bring up the house lights, they will follow the fade in time of the house lights scene, which seems counter intuitive.
