Newbie needs help with stroboscope

Hey all...
I'm new to all of this. Got my first DMX-capable fixtures last week, and I'm trying to make use of QLC+. Just as a hobby, I like tinkering around with stuff.
So, for my question: I have a classic two-channel stroboscope. Not a fancy LED fixture, but one with a Xenon bulb. It can be controlled using two DMX channels: one for the speed, one for the intensity.
I want to put some controls for it on my virtual console. Ideally two sliders to control the parameters, and one pushbutton to activate the device. So the sliders can be used to preselect speed and intensity, and the pushbutton just activates the settings. Or even better: two sliders for the settings, one switch to turn the thing permanently on or off, and two pushbuttons to override the switch. One to blackout the intensity if the switch is turned on, one to start flashing if the switch is turned off.
Hopefully, you understand what I'm looking for. I guess the Stairville Strobe Master device does what I'm looking for (and a bunch of additional things).
Having watched several tutorials, I can't seem to find a solution for this. I can place the sliders, I can dial in the values, but they are effective immediately. I want to override the output using buttons.
Any hints on how to achieve this? Is there something like a collection of best practices, or a gallery of virtual consoles for newbies like me?
Thanks in advance,
Jean.
