How to use Speed Dial Widget?

Hi all - I am using QLC+ 4.11 which is receiving MIDI data from my live set to trigger lights via DMX.

I have scene programmed to a MIDI note that, when trigger, instantly turns all fixtures red (using "flash" function, so only on when the MIDI note is played). But sometimes maybe I want that note to turn all fixtures red with a slow face in/out.

I see there is a speed dial widget. I have set the fade in/out time to my desired length, assigned it to a unique MIDI note, but when both this note and the red MIDI note are trigger, I don't get the fade. What am I doing wrong? I realize the workaround would be to create a new scene with the fade, but that will be really messy and I qill quickly run out of MIDI notes to work with.

So, to be clear, this is how I have the speed dial set up: In the "Function" menu, I have added my "all red" scene and I set the Fade In/Out factors to 1 (which I"m assuming is 1 sec?). Next in "Input", I have added the MIDI input channel in the "Apply" box via the Auto Detect function like I do with any other scene to be triggered via MIDI.

Thank you!

A flash scene overrides its fade time settings, so you are in trouble here...
If you want to have a 'swell' light, you'll be forced to come up with another solution.
One midi channel has 127 notes, and midi has 15 channels, so you won't reach that limit fast ;-)
