Hi,
I've been trying to get my laser to be detected in qlc+ but to no avail. My friend tried on macos and got nothing, I tried on linux and got the same result. The laser works in cuelux and it gets detected in dmesg as: "Product: CueCable" "Manufacturer: Visual Productions".

Seames like your laser isn't Plug & play.

This is part 2 of a series, you probably also need to watch part1.

Wait a moment: where do you want to see the device?
On the in-output tab, you see the DMX interface or the Artnet settings...
On the fixtures tab, there you have to add your devices.
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

On the Input/Output tab you have to define how you want QLC+ to communicate with your Fixtures (where to send the DMX Output to).
This could be a USB-DMX Dongle, Artnet or sACN (E.131).
If you search the internet you can't find any specification, drivers, whatsoever.
So QLC+ provides a fixture definition for your laser, but it cannot support your USB-DMX Dongle (because the manufacturer does not allow that).
Maybe you should buy something like this: https://www.amazon.nl/DMX-besturingskab ... HS1G&th=1

If this is correct, you have to do with a USB-DMX Dongle, but probably one that uses some kind of protection to prevent it from being used with other software than provided by Visual Productions.it gets detected in dmesg as: "Product: CueCable" "Manufacturer: Visual Productions

That's what I was fearing, but wasn't sure if it was correct. I will buy a new dongle and see if that works.MichelSliepenbeek wrote: ↑Wed May 17, 2023 11:13 am So QLC+ provides a fixture definition for your laser, but it cannot support your USB-DMX Dongle (because the manufacturer does not allow that).
Thanks for the help.
