Syncing Chasers

Hi,

I'm struggling with this problem since years and never found a perfect solution:

I have for example 2 Chasers with 8 steps for fixture A and 2 Chasers with 8 steps for fixture B.
All chasers are controlled with the Speed Dial and the same duration factor. Chaser 1 for A and for B got started at the same time.

When I now switch from Chaser 1 to Chaser 2 on Fixture B, while the Chaser is e.g. at step 4, the Chasers on the 2 fixtures get out of sync (step 1 of Chaser 2 is now shown when step 5 of Chaser 1 is set).
Is there any way (beside putting all possible chaser combinations into a collection) to automatically synchronize the Chasers that the step 1 of Chaser 1 and step 1 of Chaser 2 are shown at the same time? Could be that the switch only happens when the Chaser has finished or some steps get skipped.

Thanks for the help

Greetings

andz

So when you change the A-chaser, you need the B-chaser to follow?
And is this the A1 to A2 chaser (and ergo, the B1 to B2 chaser?)

Do you understand the concept of chaser in chaser? A main chaser and (multiple) sub-chasers? When the main-chaser makes a step, the sub-chasers all reset themselves.
Or you will have to explore the world of Loopback Magic and the tricks you can play with them.

Thanks,

yeah seams that I have to go with main/sub-chasers. Just wanted to prevent putting all possible combinations I want into a main-chaser or collections.

I use QLC mostly (only) for live events and change everything on the fly. A "reset chaser to pos. 1" functions would have been nice. But OK :)

Thanks for the Help GGGss

A "reset chaser to pos. 1" functions would have been nice.
If you Stop (not Pause) and then Start a chaser, it will reset to position 1.
You could make a script with: Stopfunction (chaser 1) followed by Startfunction (Chaser 1).
Might work.

Another option would be to use the external contols on the Stop and Play Control (on the Playback Tab) of your Cue List.
You could start with just assigning specific keys on your key board, if you are happy with the result you can replace them with Loopback Buttons (and combine them to Stop and Start in Sequence, for one or more chasers at the same time).
