Hi I'm new to QLC plus 4.12 using Win11. I'm looking to use it in a theatrical setting.I've got the fixtures setup and some basic scenes ,but I'm confused with scene fade in / out , hold and duration timings. I've looked in the manual and the does not seem to be any indication as to when they stop and start and when the next scene fade in starts.
What is the difference between hold and duration?
when do they start and stop?
I notice in the speed dial tool there is a Infinite tickbox for fade in and out. What is the purpose , a fade in that never ends ? and you can set Hold time but not Duration.
Fade in/out Hold Duration Hold?

Welcome to the forum,
First of all: update your version, please. We won't be chasing already solved issues.
Duration is the calculated value of fade-in + hold.
If the chaser did do its fade in and hold time, the next step is started. Fade out from the previous step starts at this moment.
Open attached project and play with it a little. Open the DMX monitor. Press the play button of the chaser...
As you can notice, playing around with chasers and timing, if you tick infinite fade, the fade in and out are 'disabled', since this is the quick way to reset timings.
Infinite time changes the chaser to a manual proceed operation. A Go command is needed to have the chaser to proceed.
