Howdy,

Have read the other threads.
Put it in generic mode, set u2, set the input and feedback to midi 1 and choose the profile.

Done all that, however, I don't know how to link channel 1 on the BCF to channel 1 on my fixture.

External midi devices can only control Virtual Console widgets. Put some sliders in VC set this sliders to control the channels that you want. The external controls cannot control any channel directly.
With a slider you can control 1 or many fixture channels, a function that you have created early in the function editor.
