What happened to the Simple Desk Cue Stack?

What happened to the Simple Desk Cue Stack in QLC+ v5 as it seems to have been replaced by “Fixture List” & “Commands history?”

For shows that need only cue lists, I find the cues defined in Simple Desk much easier to use and more intuitive for novice users than defining a cue list in Virtual Console. The two methods are different. Simple Desk Cues are essentially scenes with Fade settings and Virtual Console cues are defined Scenes that are added to a chase and the chase is then added to the Cue List in Virtual Console. The Virtual Console route requires more messing around to get everything defined. In Simple Desk, you set your scene, click record, then tweak & record until you are finished. Then since the “Edit Cue Stack” button sets everything to 0 when closed, you open it after defining the scenes, click on a cue, set name or comments, and fade times, then repeat for the next cue. When running the show with Simple Desk, you can see where the faders are and when a faux pas occurs on stage you can quickly tweak your settings (just remember to click the “X” to clear the modified settings before or during the next cue change.)

The “Fixture List” window, tells you the channels used for each fixture and jumps to the fixture faders when clicked. It seems that could easily be a drop down list. I haven’t figured out the value of the “Commands history” (which should read “Command History”) since it doesn’t seem to handle multiple settings (like set color and intensity) and clicking or double clicking on a command doesn’t seem to execute it.

I’m afraid that if Simple Desk Cue List in v5 has really gone away, v5 may be a deal breaker for me

Cue stack is a legacy workflow no longer supported.
In v5 there are many other ways to work.
Sorry if you can't find one that suits you.

Hi Dave,
I believe it's only a matter of starting using v.5, of course we have to change some of our habits.
Your case is really basic nevertheless in v.5 it shouldn't be difficult to add a New Chaser and assign some scenes to it,
the big advantage is that the Edit/Design mode is gone in v.5
Need to modify a cue?
Double click on the cue in 2D View and select the fixtures, you can change them all with one operation.
In the end v.5 will be faster and more intuitive then v.4, try to get used to it.

To add to it: The only use I saw for using simple desk was to force a value while prepping.
