Controlling Virtual Console buttons through PC Keyboard?

Hello,

i wonder if it is possible to assign laptop keyboard keys to virtual console buttons. Did anyone try that before? It could be possible through mapping the keys to midi and connecting an input universe to them. I would like to achieve this under Linux. Any ideas?

You should be able to assign a key in the menu when you write click a button.
