USB2DMX not working

Turns out this is a QLC+ bug, so can someone move this to the appropriate category. What happened is, in the Input/Output panel the were NO checkboxes DISPLAYED for DMX USB Input and Output. The boxes were programmatically there, they just did not show up on the screen. I accidentally clicked where the Output box should have been and the the box appeared and was checked. AND my interface started working. So I loaded a new Workspace, and as soon as I did the interface stopped working, and the Output box no longer showed up. Clicked the space where the check should be, the interface started, saved the workspace and now everything is fine. MINOR issue, but caused me MAJOR heartburn.

I had to switch from uDMX to USB2DMX and now I can no longer make QLC+ run my lights. There appears to be no signal going to the fixture, but the new interface cable and fixture are fine as they work correctly with Freestyler. So it appears not to be a "pure" driver issue, but that QLC+ is not recognizing something. I am using QLC+ 4.12.4 and the driver that came with my new cable. What shows in the Input/Output panel for the DMX USB Device is shown below. This is a different device than it was with uDMX. Also, this device shows up in Device Manager under Ports -> USB Serial Port (COM7) 9600baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control, which is different than uDMX as well. So is there something else I need to do ? If not, any ideas on what the issue is ? Like I said, this was all working with uDMX, right before the cable broke.
Input/Output:
DMX USB
This plugin provides DMX output support for DMXKing ultraDMX range, Enttec DMX USB Pro, Enttec Open DMX USB, FTDI USB COM485 Plus1, Vince USB-DMX512 and compatible devices.
No input support available.
1: FT232R USB UART (S/N: AB0PFR7F)
Device is operating correctly.
Driver in use: FTD2xx
Protocol: Open DMX USB
Manufacturer: FTDI
DMX Channels: 512
DMX Frame Frequency: 30Hz
System Timer Accuracy: Patch this widget to a universe to find out.
Thanks

Note: I just noticed that in the I/O panel for Universe 1 it shows Input: None and Output: None. Not sure what this means, but sounds like it might be important.
(And if I had known what I was buying was not uDMX I would NOT have bought it, Joys of Ebay.)
