Advancing like a playlist with a keystroke

I know I'm missing something, but it seems like I'm getting conflicting information on the instructions.
I'm trying to create a setlist for my show that advances to the next step with a keystroke. (Like the spacebar which is use for the shows area) I'm trying to make a cue list like this.
Normal Stage Wash and Preshow Music
Space Bar advances to
Chaser Lights for 30 seconds then Stage Wash all while Intro Music plays
Space Bar
Fades Music and Stage Wash Comes back on
Space Bar
Plays next music Cue keeps Stage Wash
Space Bar
Plays next music Cue keeps stage wash
Etc....
So I've looked into doing a Cue List in Virtual Console, but it appears that can only run with one chaser unless I'm missing something. Then when I create a chaser, there's no way to divide all these things into steps and have music run concurrently during the chaser, and be able to advance, etc...
I know I'm overlooking something as this seems to be a simple ask. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've used Show Cue Systems in the past, but paying that fee for only one lighting cue seems to a bit much.
