Button trigger "ON" only, instead of toggling on/off?

Newb here. This question has a couple layers, but the simplest is: can a button trigger an "ON" signal only, instead of toggling between on and off? Or is there another type of control that can do this?

The use case: I am triggering via MIDI in Ableton Live. Sometimes the drummer starts a song a bit too early (while I'm still talking to the crowd) so he'll stop/restart the Ableton Live scene only a few seconds later (during the count in, before the music actually starts)... or if we jump around our song list and happen to start a song that begins by using the same button that the previous song ended on then new song would actually turn the lights off, instead of re-triggering the same scene. I know there are probably work arounds (like duplicate the button every time it is used in a show so it's never used twice, but that could become a lot for a 4-hour show with relatively few looks prepared) but wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Thoughts?

Hi Brett and welcome to the forum.

A button set to flash will only be activated while you press it. Now in conjunction with midi-signals, this might not work?
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

Thanks GGGas, I considered that, and may end up going that route. It should work with the MIDI side of thing, I was just hoping to avoid having to use midi notes that are several minutes long, especially when it comes to songs that don't have structured tracks, and/or that we may jam on for a while. But I guess this could be a good solution because it actually makes it easier to have the lighting switch back to a 'between songs' cue easily/automatically.
