Basic OSC Configuration

Hi!

I am trying to get Bitfocus Companion > OSC > QLC+ > DMX control going at a base level (on Windows 10)

1 DMX channel is successfully controlled by a slider in the Virtual Console.

Bitfocus Companion 2.1.3 is running on 127.0.0.1:8888 and sending OSC commands to 127.0.0.1:7700

QLC+ is configured for OSC 127.0.0.1 on port 7700 for Universe 1 and displays numerous Packets Received

In Input Profile Editor I have both tried the Channel Wizard, and adding a slider with channel 1 manually. When I add it manually I link it as an External Input for the Virtual Console slider.

I have tried OSC paths in Companion including; /1/slider/1, /slider/1, /1/dmx/1, /qlc+/slider/1 and none provide control

I have not been able to find any intelligible documentation for the OSC Channel number calculator.

I have not been able to enable any debugging mode in QLC+ on Windows.

Could anyone please advise on how to troubleshoot this or get it working? Thanks!

The input profile editor does the job for you.
Start the wizard and send packets to QLC+.
If none appears, it means there's something wrong on the network/configuration that you should solve first.

I have not been able to enable any debugging mode in QLC+ on Windows.

Released versions, as the name says, do not include any debugging. To debug you need to build a debug version.

Thanks for the reply Massimo, I recreated my Companion profile and discovered I was mistakenly sending Strings instead of Integers.

If you could either enable -g logging of OSC commands or provide an interface in the application to display the received data and type I think it would make it easier to troubleshoot this type of issue in the future.

John, can you possibly share the integer values you had success with, I too am trying to get companion to talk to Qlite V 5
