Hi,
I have an LED Bar from Stareville (CLB 2.4 LED Bar) with 4 Lights. Also I used Ableton Live to play songs in the Session View. Lets say I play the song „We are the champions“ from Queen (I think everybody knows this song). When i play this song I want to play the lights right to the song. So that the colours will change in time/on beat. There shoud not always the same colour change (all lights red, all lights green, all lights yellow, all lights red, all lights green,….) I want a random colour change of the coulours., like the existing programms the light bar bings, but in time with the song. I hope you know what I mean.

I connected Ableton Live to QLC+ so that MIDI from Ableton controlls the lights in QLC+ (works great!). Now I started to create some Scenes and some Matrixes. But it is a lot of work to do this for one song. And I have to do this for about 50 songs.

Is there an easy way to control the light bar with QLC+ - for example just use a skript and then copy the script and change the bpm? Or is it better to create a Chaser for every song (takn from a master Chaser) and then change the hold time in the settings? Or does somebody have a better idea. I think I’m not hte only one using LED Bars… I searched in the forum but I could not find anything.

Thanks for helping.
Best Regards
Tobias

That all depends on what you want.
In your case I would create a master chase, where the steps are controlled (proceed next) by you (with Ableton). Inside that chaser I would add sub chasers (with what ever efx or snick snack you like).
On VC you create a Speed Dial widget. With this tool you can change the hold time (or fade(s)) for the sub chasers. With the Abelton connection, you can send the beat to the tap button of the speed dial.
Now you are in control of the tempo inside QLC+ from within Ableton.
I guess this will help you deal with your workload.

OMG! It is working. First I thought I'm not able to set up Ableton and QLC+ to send and receive MIDI Clock - but it is so easy.

I will work this way. For testing I set up just 2 different Chasers - one where I light up all the 4 lights to differnt colours ond the other where I set each light to a different colour. Then I create my szene and my chaser and let it control by ableton. Now I set up a seperate MIDI chanel where I can switch between the different Chasers. But this saves a lot of time.

Thank you so mutch.
