I have a PreSonus ATOM controller that I've set up to work nicely (so far) with QLC. The pads are working with my VC to trigger lights. Now I'd like to be able to send output to it that changes the colors of the LED pads. I've seen how it's done with a Launchpad, and done some research and came across this thread, but I'm not sure how to implement these ideas in QLC+. https://answers.presonus.com/37780/how- ... nding-midi
So it looks like I have 2 things I need to figure out -
1 - creating a fixture definition for the ATOM or controlling the buttons via MIDI feedback. I'm not sure how to even start here - I've looked into the Novation Launchpad fixture definition provided here - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13436 but I'm not sure how to figure out which channels are which and what their capabilities are for the ATOM, if that's even possible. Kind of seems like PreSonus is a little more opaque about these things than Novation, although maybe I can reach out to their support and get some info here.
2 - sending the "secret handshake" detailed in the first linked thread. It seems like that might be done via the midi templates of which QLC has a couple included, like the ones that use an <InitMessage> message /code to put launchpads or APC40's into developer mode which allows LED control. But I'm not sure if this is the right approach, and if it is, how to translate the handshake provided (C-2 note of 127 velocity to the channel 16 (midi tuple (143,0,127))) to the codes used in those templates.
Based on the fact that I haven't seen any talk about the ATOM this may be a very edge use case but thanks for your time
