QLC+ 5 on macOS Big Sur

Hi there,

I have searched through the forum to find some possible information to help me resolve the issue but not been able to find anything. I downloaded a copy of QLC+ 5 Alpha3 and run it on my laptop. Once I allow it, as macOS Gatekeeper at first wont open it, the program appears to be loading however the program stops responding on load and the rainbow wheel appears and no window appears. I am unable to to close it unless I use force quit. I tried to open the program again and the same thing happened. I left it for a while to see if it would recover but nothing happened.

I am trying to run it on a MacBook Pro Mid-2014 model with the following spec:

CPU: 3 GHz Dual Core Intel Core i7
RAM: 16GB 1600MHz DDR3
GPU: Intel Iris 1536MB
OS: macOS Big Sur 11.0.1

I looked online at Apple support and my MacBook runs OpenGL 4.1

Any help or advice would be greatly appriciated.

Cheers
J

Hi, I haven't upgraded to Big Sur yet.
Most likely, the Qt version bundled in Alpha3 was not compatible.
Next version will probably be.

Ah no problems, I’ll keep my eyes peeled for the next release.

Thank you!

+1 on this .. did some quick troubleshooting and looking like it's blocking on 2D View .. but has some other interesting errors. I have dumped a log at https://sandsite.org/downloads/QLC/qlc5-big_sur.log. Still working on my OSX 10.15 just fine.
