Using a DMX USB purchased off of Amazon. I see the USB :

Bus 001 Device 013: ID 16c0:05dc Van Ooijen Technische Informatica shared ID for use with libusb

...but QLC shows nothing listed. What else can I try?

The poor guy did a lot of work creating a controller and every Asian copier used the code. To my knowledge, it is a DMX v1.0 board (old and has known problems)
Anyway - is it supported? https://www.qlcplus.org/features.html - No...
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

OK. So there is some sort of in fighting I'm not aware of then? That's why it's not supported?

It works with FreeStyler X2 just fine. Guess I'll use that instead.

Most probably it is not supported because:
- it is not compatible with something already supported
- the developer does not have access to the device and/or time to implement support and/or demand is not big enough to invest time in implementing support
