Newbie hello and question

Hi all , brand new member to the QLC family, thanks for having me, i run lights for a semi professional theatre group, currently using a simple Zero 88 12/24 desk, looking to move to software based solution and thought lockdown was a good time to play, Had QLC for a couple of days now and slowly working things out , bit by bit, looks a great piece of software , so thanks to developers for making it free/donation ware, once lockdown over and we get some shows on the road a donation will no doubt be winging its way to the developer/developers.

first question, maybe asked before but can't find it , is it possible to view both Virtual console and Simple desk at the same time on same screen or can you only toggle between them, just thought it might be nice to see what the sliders are doing as moving through Que list , and making small adjustments on the fly , Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. You can detach VC or Simple desk tabs with a simple double click on tabs.

Just close the detached tab and it will reappear in the main window.

Here's a slighly confusing observation in this context:

If any tabs are detached and you quit QLC+ by closing, or typing Alt-F4 for the main window, these detached tabs and also DMX monitor (AFAIK the only other non-modal window in QLC+) will stay open and seem to continue to work. They even stay active when launching a new QLC instance.

I'm not sure whether this is intended, or just programming error/oversight. Personally I think all the detached windows should close and the program quit completely (possibly with a dedicated warning message) when the main window closes.
