Parking a fixture

I am new to QLC+. I have searched the FAQ and General questions but have not found what I am looking for. What I am wanting to do is setup a computer to run QLC in kiosk mode at full screen already in Operation mode. I have created a button that is called shutdown that will actually shut the computer down. My problem is that my movers do not reset themselves to their original location - what I call parking a fixture. When I then turn the system back on, the movers then make horrible noises getting themselves booted up. I wrote a function that causes them to park themselves and tried to run that before the shutdown command. This works for a second - the amount of time I put on the wait command before shutdown command kicks in. Then they go back to where the Operation mode has them set to. If I do not put in the wait command, the movers don't even move before the shutdown command starts shutting down the system. Any and all help is welcome. THANK YOU!

If you boot your computer, you should issue a reset command to the fixtures. That is general practice. Otherwise, they aren't 'zero-ed' and initialized. The professional movers have control channels dealing with this. Holding a certain value for 5 second will initialize this phase.
The term 'parking' is used on large desks with another meaning ;-) My mind was triggered by this term. Off-topic, but it would actually be nice to be able to park fixtures...

If you shut your desk down, it looks nice to have the fixtures hang in a neutral position, like dead-down. You will have to give them enough time to reach this position. Also, a controlled lamp-out phase with enough time to let them cool down is nice to have. So a wait-state before the shutdown is needed. (but now I assume that your fixtures hold the last received value before DMX is shut down...)
