Assigning 2 fixtures to 1 generic Dimmer Channel

Hi,

I think I'm missing a trick here, I use QLC for theatre lighting, which consists of both DMX and analogue lighting. I use a number of generic dimmer channels to control my analog lighting, each channel representing a row on my patch board.

As with most patch boards, each channel has at 2 x 5 or 15 amp lines attached to it, which means that each generic dimmer controls at least 2 lamps. If I try and add multiple fixtures on the fixture editor, it immediately increases the channels to 2.

Don't get me wrong QLC is controlling what I want it to as each dimmer channel is on or off and doesn't give a flying fig regards what's attached to it, but if I want to get the full benefits of the stage modelling that version 5 will bring then I need to associate a number of fixtures to a single generic dimmer channel.

Is there a way to do this?

Nope, both v4 and v5 don't allow overlapping channels.
V5 however, allows to add "linked" fixtures, so you can preview separate items as it is in the real world

for the visual purpose, you could make use of dummy-fixtures. (Use an offset of f.i. 300 to identify the dummy vs real fixtures)
The only extra thing to do is to 'apply-all' the settings of the real fixture to the dummy ones.
