Newbie sound-trigger question

Or possibly make that, newbie idiot question !!!

So,, despite remaining the eternal amateur, got the hang of scenes, efx, collections, chasers, etc
so all in all, for the 1 live band we're running it, QLC+ been great !

Been trying to get to grips with the sound triggers though, and I somehow possibly understand it backwards.
Looking at it; at the virtual console, I can create and manage the audio triggers but.....

Say I create a couple of scenes, 1 being 3 pars full white - intent is blink based on the beat, then another one being a chaser, say I want to use the beat to be the trigger for
progressing in the chase, are these 2 things doable ?

As I see it for the moment, and very likely wrong, is the audiotrigger itself being able to call functions, scenes, etc, but no the other way around ?
Sorry in advance if the question is a bit vague....

For this you have to dig into the loopback feature.
your audio widget will trigger a scene that sets a channel in the loopback universe.
This means now you have an new (virtual) input which you can use to trigger other stuff. (chasers step forward, flash buttons, enabling EFX, ...)

Thanks !!!

Viewed the audio-trigger tutorial from the tutorial page,
Seemed to be quite doable to use;
1. Cuelist (infinite lenght)
2. add audio trigger - set volumes,
- Go !

Only thing is; the tutorial states that one could/should chose a CHASER for both cue-list and as audio-trigger.
But, the choice according to the video states "VC WIDGET" but choosing that disables the option to chose any CHASER and only collections, scenes ?
Only working choice to be able to choose a chaser is "function" instead.....

In the manual:

Code: Select all

VC Widget - Controls a Virtual Console widget (at the moment only buttons, sliders, tapping of speed dials and next cue of cue lists)
https://www.qlcplus.org/docs/html_en_EN ... ggers.html

And with your conclusion ... you see why my suggestion is valid - use loopback channels and you can control the world
