Include / exclude moving heads from EFX live

Hi to all, this is my first post, so please be patient if I'm not doing the right way.
I use QLC+ since 2015 and I learned almost all I need by reading guides or watching tutorials; I obviously used the search function but I still haven't found what I'm looking for:
how to enable/disable (include/exclude) fixtures (moving head specifically) from a running EFX?
I tried by using XY pad and fixture group presets, but it only works with manual position. When using EFX preset it affects all fixtures as listed in the function and not the ones selected in the pad, the same if I activate EFX from a separate button.
I try to explain better: I have 12 moving heads which are driven by an EFX during almost the whole show but sometimes I need to "unload" one or two of them and reach a fixed position while the others continue moving, or at least I need to stop the EFX, select fixtures to move (excluding the one or two I need to point elsewhere) and restart the EFX.
Is there a way to do that? Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for this and for all I've already learned on this forum.
Simone
