Q. Controling sound&light for "robotwars" fights.

Hi everyone,
In short: I'm looking for a program that lets me control lights in relation to a sound file, but also lets me mix in other audio clips without 'disturbing' the playback and light sequence of the main sound/light program.
I'll be running it on a windows laptop with an USB->DMX (MyDMX). and might want to look into running it on a Pi as well.

More info...
The main show is basicaly an audio clip of 3.15seconds (or so) long. This includes the "Roboteers ready" the "3-2-1-Activate" folowed by almost 3 minutes of silence and then the 10 second countdown and "seize". During this the lights go from lighting the respective start points to full bright for the fight and a short blackout at the end and then to 'worklights' to clear the arena. This is a fairly simple setup (but MyDMX (lite) 2.0 doesn't let me playback the audio...
The tricky bit is that during the fight a robot might be down and is given a ten-count K.O. i want to be able to trigger this sound clip, and stop it mid-count, without canceling the main sound & light sequence. If the K.O. is called this sequence should also change the lights (blackout->worklights) a manual switching of it all might also work for us. Other light functions would also be programmed and selectable (blackout, worklights, pre fight start corner illumination etc).
We have some video's of fights up on youtube, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us-GyvIwJjU

If i could get it to cooperate with my Novation Launchpad to trigger things, that would be great too...

In our current setup i use my laptop for MyDMX and we have a sampling pad hooked to the audio mixer to play the sounds. Starting a fight requires the simultanious pushing of buttons on the sampling pad and the laptop (trackpad-mouse button). But on the sampling pad, if we trigger the KO count the main 3minute clip is aborted, so at the right time we need to trigger a separate end of fight countdown audio sample. And that is how things get messy..... as the lights will do their thing non the less...

So the main question would be if QLC can mix audio/sequences together without canceling a sequence...

Thanks,
Niels Schotten
