Q Light Controller+

Hi,

we have 18 RGBA LEDs which I would like to set seperately but also in groups.
Is there a way to first select some LEDs and afterwards select the color for the selected LEDs with one color picker or with preset buttons.

When I then set other LEDs the same way the previous set LEDs shall remain as the were set in the first place.

This is the way MA products are used.

I do not want to prepare a color selection for each LED. This way I can either not select the exact same color twice or I have to limit the selection of colors due to limited space. Yes, I could use frames with multiple pages but this results in lots of taps to set the whole range of the LEDs.

In our theater we mostly have just 2 hours to do the soundcheck and program and setup the light. So we need a rapid way to setup a szene.

No there is no faster way at the moment.
You have to prepare your colour selections before loading-in ...

I wrote some python scripts doing the job.
Attached is an image of the console I use now.
On the right side is the selector where I can select all the fixtures placed like they are in the theatre then optionally the color and finally the dimmer.
Each button starts a python script pasing over fixture specific parameters.
When all parameters are passed they get converted to midi commands who come back into the faders belonging to the selected fixtures.

Right now I still have some problems with LEDs while the do not react properly. Mostly just the currently visible page of the frames will be changed.
For each call of an external script a zombie process remains until QLC exits. I do not know if this bad anyhow.

If someone is interested in the scripts and the the show file let me know.

Hi,
the issue with the LEDs was caused by myself.
While all the changes I made I messed up the definition of quite a few sliders. Mostly caused by changeing the LEDs from 2-ch to 8-ch.

Yesterday I set up the system in our theatre and it worked like a charm. So lets see what my co-technicians say.

I appreciate this was a while ago, but this is exactly how I would like QLC+ to work for me. I'm very familiar with the "select group, select function" concept that other control desks implement and would love to bend QLC+ to do the same.
