Functionality Of A Chaser Using Scenes

Hi Professionals,
I'm simply working on my setup, every day it's getting better. Actually I think I did not really understand the functionality of a chaser using steps.
Example:
I Have an "Spider" (or how it's called) with three turnable bars. On these bars I can change the color of the LEDs and also the angle. Now I have created scenes, where only the angle of one bar is defined, Bar 1 -> 90° or Bar 2 -> 45° and so on. This should be change through ArtNet (every Beat), which is still working.
But I did not really understand the functionality of a chaser. To keep it flexible now I tried the following:
Step Szene Delay
1 Bar 1 90° 0ms
2 Bar 2 45° 0ms
3 Bar 3 0° here waiting for ArtNet-Impuls
4 Bar 1 45° 0ms
5 Bar 2 90° 0ms
6 Bar 3 45° here waiting for ArtNet-Impuls
My idea was to set the three different bars this way and wait for the next step, but I think it will not (and of course it did not) work. I though when a set an unit by DMX it keeps the values as it get's new ones, so why here only the steps 3 and 6 shows a reaction on the Spider, the other steps seemed to be ignored.
I'm (51) too old for that ...
Bye
Roger
