Strobo EFX doubt for genius...

Hello everyone!
Two questions...
1. Is there a possibility to apply EFX to a dimmer channel?
2. I would need to create the following EFX: random strobe applied to a channel group. How can I do without creating a chaser or a sequence?
Thank you all for helping!

Well - I´m not sure if I understand your question correct since EFX already applies to dimmer channels ...
But, as you´re talking about a "strobe", I think you just mean "using an (RGB) effect only for dimmer", here´s my solution:
- add "hidden" dimmers to a loopback univers.
- use these dimmers as a "RGB matrix"
- build any rgb matrix you like in the function editor (strobe, fill, etc.)
- "map" the loopback dimmers to the dimmer channel(s) of your real fixtures ...
- done.
Now you can choose whatever color you like and "apply" any effect you like to these fixtures.
I made a small project to clarify this
Others may have other solutions.

If I understood correctly, even this simpler solution would work for you:

- define a fixture group containing the dimmer channels you want, and get the channel order right (click that fixture group's folder icon and adjust rows/columns/placement in the right side editor

-go to functions tab, create a RGB matrix and choose this fixture group as target, then adjust animation type, speed and colours as needed

I've also made simple example workspace and append it here.

Just be aware that strobing conventional/halogen lamps won't look that good and will smear, specially at high speed rates, because the bulb needs time to cool down and shows after-glow. Also most likely it will reduce your halogen bulbs' lifespans considerably...
