Trigger two functions at same time (audio and lights)

Hello! I'm new to QLC and working with DMX lighting in general, but have a background in audio engineering/music production so I have a basic idea of what's going on, but I'm hoping for some help/tips. I'm currently working on a project for a client in which an operator will click a button on the Virtual Console in QLC which will play 1 of 16 audio samples while a corresponding scene fades in for 10 seconds, holds for 10 seconds, and does a 10 second fade out.

My equipment: Enttec Open DMX USB and an Eliminator Mini Par RGBW LED running QLC+ on a Windows 7 Laptop.

I've already watched most of the 30 min tutorials on the website, downloaded all drivers, added in the Eliminator fixture definition, set the light to the right mode, set up the scenes correctly, imported the audio, and created chasers containing 1. the audio sample and 2. the corresponding scene. I've set up a 4x4 grid of buttons in the Virtual Console set to trigger each chaser.

I've set up my scenes by adding in the correct fixture, enabling all channels, selecting correct color with color tool, and inputing fade in and out info with the speed dial tool. When I scroll through the scenes the light comes on and displays the correct color, but does not fade in or out.

My problem currently is I have no idea how the chasers are supposed to work; they are being very inconsistent. On the Function screen with a Chaser selected, I have Step 1 being the audio sample, and Step 2 being the corresponding scene. I have Run order: Single Shot, Forward direction, and Fade In/Fade Out/Duration set to Per Step. However when I click the play button sometimes it will just trigger the audio and the light will not come on. Sometimes the audio sample will finish playing entirely and then the light will come on after the audio is finished. Sometimes the light will come on instantly and the audio will never play. All of this without me changing anything in the program, which makes my brain hurt.

In a perfect world, upon button press, the chaser will instantly start the audio sample, and at the same time, the light will start it's 10 second fade in, hold for 10 seconds, and then do a 10 second fade out. Is it possible to accomplish this in QLC? I assumed I could plug this into the columns to the right of Step and Function on the Chaser page listed as Fade In, Hold, and Fade Out, but it seems like this is not the case.

How can I accomplish this? I've done a lot of research and asked more experienced people and everything points to QLC+, I just can't figure out how to trigger two functions at the same time. If it helps I've uploaded my project folder here if you need to look at what I have so far: http://www.mediafire.com/file/705tuvb4v ... p.zip/file

Thanks in advance for any help! I plan on using QLC+ a lot in the future and will enjoy learning a lot more when I don't have this terrifying deadline looming over my head.

Oh wow, yes this is exactly what I need!

Thank you so much, as I had watched a lot of tutorials but must have skipped over/missed anything regarding collections.

Thanks for the helpful response, it seems to be working! When all is said and done I'll post pictures/vids of the project in the correct section!

Moved to QLC+ 4 generic questions, even though the version used is still unknown
