eDMX1 art-net help

linux qlc+ 4.11.2

eDMX1 is working in output mode with the E1.31 plugin but I'm not able to us it with art-net,
enclosing a picture of the nodes-tree.
The box is configured in DHCP with the default house settings.
Is there any specific setting that I should apply?
(before someone ask I've already googled)

For easier troubleshooting: disable ipv6
now make sure both (sender and receiver) are talking to each other make sure that OR broadcast mode is selected OR unicast mode.
(I don't know the eDMX1 so I would have to investigate the manual)

and start sniffing the network - then you can see what's going out and in

Hello,
you need to configure you edmx to be in the same network than your router.
Here the documentation https://dmxking.com/downloads/eDMX1%2 ... 20(EN).pdf

2.0.0.x is not a good address now. It used to be reserved, but in the meantime they allocated it to real network (it seems that it's somewhere in Paris).
So it may work until you connect your network with the internet. Then you will have sudden problems.

If you need isolated network, 192.168.x.y, 10.a.b.c are better addresses.
Nevertheless, as giacomo has written, you need to set eDMX1 address to match your network. You say it's configured for DHCP.
Is 2.0.0.2 address expected or is it possible that you don't have DHCP server on the network?

I have eDMX1 (the original version, not the PRO), and artnet works fine for me.

Also don't forget that Artnet universes are numbered from 0, not 1!

If you haven't sorted this yet, please post output of ifconfig on your computer and screenshot of the eDMX utility (how is the device setup).

thanks you all for the answers,
I'm trying to learn something.
One thing I've not written because I wasn't thinking about it:
the edmx1 pro is connected directly to the laptop, is it wrong?
I'm doing it sometimes with artnet and 2 laptops, ad-hoc connection, you see the address 2.0.0.2
because it's an old setting that I've stored but I've tried also with the edmx1 house ip that is 192.168.0.111 and
set the laptop to 192.168.0.100.
In both cases the network manager says that they're connected and the plugin E1.31 is working so I was guessing that it wasn't an ethernet problem,
ipv6 is disabled.
Tonight I tried with another lighting software and same result: E1.31 is working, art net no, so I'm doing something wrong.
Tomorrow I'll post the ifconfig and the config utility screenshot.

The gateway must be 192.168.0.254

Wrong statement ...
The gateway address has to be the one of the router (to the world)

@OP Did you install latest firmware? Here and there I read bad stuff about not being backward compatibility (not in respect to your interface, but to artnet v4 in general)

Habemus Papam!

I disabled dhcp in the interface because I'm connecting it directly to my computer,
now art-net and e1.31 are both working :)
Probably the more flexible solution would be to have a dhcp server enabled in the laptop because I guess that I'll have to re-enable dhcp if I'll use it within a lan,
I've dnsmasq installed as optional dependency for network-manager but it's a quite long complicated configuration file for my understandings.

to answer your replies,
yes I already updated the firmware and tried to use 192.168.0.254 as gateway.

in case someone need an example,
here my actual settings:

_eDMX1 pro with dhcp "disabled" to connect it directly to my laptop
_ address 10.0.0.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 10.0.0.1
(I set this address because sometimes I use artnet with another software that requires to use 2.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x - I've switched to 10.x.x.x after Jano's reply)

_laptop side:
_ address 10.0.0.11 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 10.0.0.1

any suggestion or further consideration is appreciated!
