Anything that can import/read MIDI file cues beside QLab?

I want to confirm if there is anything out there that can import/read MIDI files cues from a MIDI file beside QLab. It's a fairly pricey license for once function - though it's a very important function.

(I'm using a Logic-created MIDI file to cue a QLC+ light show in concert with two videos)

Thanks,

I've been looking for Qlab alternatives since a year or so, but my impression is that there is nothing that gets anywhere near featurewise.

I have looked for a different featureset though, my interest was in audio playback mainly, in a cuelist fashion, and possibly be able to playback video. And the program should be cheap or gratis/opensource.

I ended up using Linux Show Player, which only runs on Linux at this time, or Da_Share's Multiplay, an older shareware for Windows. LSP doesn't seem to load SMF, but Multiplay
docs mention a "midi sequence" cue type (which I can't seem to get to work here running from wine and trying with simple music SMFs...)

But I wonder, as I don't fully understand that concept of MIDI file cues: what's different there from just playing this midifile off a sequencer program and connect that to qlc+? The QLab docs sound as if it were a cue type that just runs the MIDI file while letting you route the contained tracks to individual destinations?

Thank you Edgar,

It seems like it would be possible to import the midi file into QLC+ and play it from there, or even play it in Logic X. The trouble is that the MIDI cues are not picking up in QLC+ so I assume they can't. It sounds like the only two options are QLab $399 or ShowBuddy with DMXIS $400+.

Hm, but if you need this for just one project, there's also a per-day rental option for Qlab...

Thanks for that edogawa - It's one project that will be used often so I don't think it would apply. I appreciate your input!
