QLC appears to stop talking to light

Hi,
QLC+ looks great, and I'm working though using it to set up some simple lighting shows.
Running on Linux Mint 18.3 Running qlc+ V 4.11.2 64bit
Currently using a uDMX interface and testing with a cheap moving head LED light.
Once in a while I seem to send a value to the light and it stops talking. But it doesn't actually appear to be the light.
When this happens power cycling the light doesn't resolve the issue but exiting QLC+ and restarting the program does.
So if I hit the problem if I exit QLC and start it again then everything works just fine without power cycling the light.
Has anyone seen something like this, and if so do you have any suggestions?
I also have an ENTTEC Open USB to DMX interface I can test with again, but I think when I first tried using QLC+ it was with the ENTTEC interface and had the same issue.
Thanks,
Burt
