Isolated DMX interface - recommendations?

Ask a generic question about the usage of QLC+, not related to a particular operating system

Hey everyone,
I am doing light setups for a theater, and we recently switched from PC-Dimmer to QLC+.
We are currently using an ENTTEC Pro DMX interface, but it's slightly broken and will sometimes disconnect from the PC.
We also have a Eurolite DMX512 Mk2, but QLC+ does not work well with it ....
Before I order another ENTTEC - is there a better choice out there?
For example, the FX5 DMX interface?
Isolation is an important feature as we are performing outside and sometimes it will rain, so we have to protect our equipment.
Other than that - 1 universe, 512 adresses are sufficient, and I really do not know of any other requirements we might have...

thanks :)

If there is a budget go for the robust Enttec ... Mine is 4 yrs now and boy ... it has been battered and beaten with and still working perfect.
A cheap way to protect your cables (connectors) from the rain is to use condoms... by these means we did protect a whole winter caravan against harsh weather perfectly.
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

I suggest you check ethernet-based devices (enttec ODE, dmxking eDMX,...).
- they are as stable and isolated as the "Pro" USB devices
- if you need you can put wifi in the path
- you can use them from lots of device types (phones, tablets,...)
- you can still connect them directly to the computer, but you can put them in remote location (e.g. stage) bu running long cat 5 cable, or connect to existing infrastructure.
- in fact, ethernet provides some isolation as well

I have had a DMXKing Micro USB for three years and have never had a problem. When I got mine they were $35. I think they are a little more now.

Edit: I should add that I use wireless dmx all the time now. I have a combination of Donner units and also Chauvet USB dongles. This has freed me from the tyranny of long cables.

I've got two DMXKing boxes an UltraDMX RDM Pro and a eDMX2 Pro, both work through USB and the eDMX2 Pro is also Artnet based too. I've had the UltraDMX for going on 5 years and it is a champ. Well worth the money for it. I highly recommend DMXking.

Hi, have Eurolite USB-DMX512-PRO Interface MK2 too. No function. LED always red.
Could you post your settings? I have Pro RX/TX, 44 Hz.
Thank you very much.
