Seems by a search here that there's no native way to import a ssl2 file ?
Anyone knows any standalone sw that could achieve it ?
Got a couple of Cameo Moonflower's... mailed cameo about any specs, etc as mine are an earlier model
and in a day they sent me dmx table plus a ssl2 file....so great and quick service for sure !!!

Hi, I understand that the ssl2 files are the format of fixture definitions for the nicolaude software .. (sunlite) an accessories converter would be wonderful, from avolites to your format, from sunlite to your format .... but something like that would simply be , illegal ?, I personally if I have an accessory that has no definition in qlc + and if in avolites and I do not have the manual, since the definition of avolites (r5) I edit it, I look at the values and create my own definition for the software you need to use, if you are not familiar with the editor of qlc, quiet, we can help you, if you have a DMX table of your cameos, or have a manual, you can request a definition of your cameo and someone can create it, just provide the necessary data (manual, DMX table and specifications, anything that provides information about the device) ..... a converter of something exclusive to what I want is difficult to find ... a greeting

Thanks Andres...
Being an old IT techie,, it's somewhat like my old days struggling with definition files for SNMP tools....if it instead was 1 standard file = it would be easier !
Yeah,, Cameo was really helpful, they sent manual, dmx definition plus that ssl2 file, so maybe I should try the fixture editor again and see if I understand it.
Doesn't look like it is too much data to enter either;
- CH1
000 - 255 Color selection
- CH2
0-9 No rotation
10-120 Counter-clockwise fast-slow
121-134 No rotation
135-245 Clockwise slow-fast
246-255 No rotation
- CH3
1-255 Strobe effect slow-fast
- CH4
0-255 Dimmer 0-100%
It's probably a question of getting/understanding how to enter what into which field...I'll give it a try !!

Hello, I have created a definition with the data you provide, to be complete and get the maximum test, missing data, for example, what value dmx for red, blue ... ect, all this will be in the manual, likewise, right now you can use this definition and test your cameos with QLC and use them .... you can try to complete this definition with the fixture editor of QLC to get maximum test, I hope it helps you ...

Big thanks !!!!
Hopefully, I'll gain some insight from the file definition vs the pdf I got so I might be able to contribute back in the future.
Best of timing also - just received the new lights plus usb/dmx device yesterday,, so just about to take my first uneasy steps in this new world !!!

As of conversion between different fixture formats: I'm one of the developers of the
Open Fixture Library (OFL); we collect fixtures in a unified format that can be automatically exported into several lighting program's formats, including QLC+. There's also (behind the scenes, not ready in the UI yet) an import functionality that takes a qxf file (or another format) and converts it into our unified format.
So if we had the SSL2 import functionality, we could import it to OFL and then download it as qxf. I wouldn't think that this is illegal, but it could be a licensing problem. The bigger problem is that SSL2 files aren't XMLs like qxfs are, but they are saved in a binary format that isn't human-readable. Maybe, it's encrypted with a key by Nicolaudie, so chances are low that we'll find out how to read or generate SSL2 files.
@swetarkus: When you try to add a new fixture, play around with the QLC+ fixture editor or our
OFL fixture editor (to make it available for other lighting programs as well). Just read the manual pdf and add some channels in the editor

It would be wonderful to have a unique library format for everyone. As for the coding not readable for humans, in avolites it is not encoded, it is a text file with all the clear and logical parameters, with extra functions ... (macros), the database of fixtures of Avolites is immensely big ... I imagine that it will be relatively easy to get an converter R5 import OFL export QXF ..... I do not know if there are licensing problems, many of these libraries for Avolites are created and shared by users of Avo ....
