Q Light Controller+

Hi folks. As the topic suggests, I am wondering if there is any capability to have a particular function able to be triggered by more than one key on my midi controller. I was hoping to use a midi controller to sort of simulate 'Collections' by having a key able to trigger a number of different functions. But to do that in a meaningful way I would have to be able to have a particular function, say 'red color for the wash lights' able to be triggered by different keys on the controller. That way I could mix and match combinations of functions realtime using the midi controller.

UPDATE: My question just got a little more complicated. I have one of the MPD series of Akai midi controller (MPD226). It doesn't seem that QLC recognizes it at all. Do I have any options to get support for it? The controller is brand new.

Do you mean QLC does not recognise any midi commands from your controller? Or you just can't find the mapping in the profile list?

Even without a profile map for the controller, QLC should recognise midi signals.

Connect your controller and start QLC. Goto input/output tab and check the box for midi in for your midi device. When you manipulate any of the controls a joystick image should appear on the universe tab.

Once QLC is receiving midi, you can easily create a profile for your controller.

I'm unaware of an easy way to map multiple functions to one midi key.
You cold try inserting multiple function instances into a VC, mapping each instance to a different midi key.

Or if you really need to press one button with multiple external inputs, use a loopback channel as external input for the button and duplicate the scenes activating this loopback channel on the loopback universe. Something tells me there already was a thread on how to do that but I am not able to find it atm...
