MIDI in virtual console has no effect

Ask a generic question about the usage of QLC+, not related to a particular operating system

Hallo,

I am having a strange issue, that I find hard to debug: The virtual console does not react to MIDI signals, through the setup seems to work fine.
I am sending a MIDI signal via "1: Midi Through Port-0" to qlcplus' as Input. The "Input/Output" view shows me this is working. When I send the signal I see the "joystick" icon show up on "universe 1".
In the virtual console I create a Button, add a Function and click "Auto Detect". The MIDI input is correctly detected. I go into operate mode and send the midi signal: nothing is happening, the button (or any other widget) is not reacting.
Can anyone point me to what I am missing here?

Many thanks!

What is your MIDI device?
What is your QLC+ version?
What is your operating system?

If MIDI works for faders (the same MIDI message) then you need to create input profile and specify "Generate an extra Press/Release when toggled",
see http://www.qlcplus.org/docs/howto-input-profiles.html

Hello,

I am on Linux Minu 18, QLC+ 4.11, my MIDI device is the "Linux Show Player" (https://github.com/FrancescoCeruti/linux-show-player). I will play with the profiles now. Thanks you!
