Is there already a fixture preset for these - got cheap off ebay to play around with and learn some DMX stuff

Without any documentation that's impossible to say. Since it has white LEDs, the Generic RGB won't work. But it's really not difficult to create such a simple fixture in the Fixture editor.
Since qlc+ is missing a definition for a generic RGBW fixture, I added a generic RGBW Fixture with this post. Try it. If it doesn't work for your fixture, get a PDF of the User Manual and post it (or better a link to it) here.

for what was bought as cheap off ebay they are ok value for the money for what i have seen of them so far - they are not $100 lights only $10 lights and this needs to be remembered

You might like to edit the descriptions in the colour change channels. I just put them in as per the manual but they are rather long.

Meanwhile I've created my own fixture as I could't find any.
The name of my LED Spot is:
Lixada DMX-512 RGBW LED Stage PAR Light

Great news my USB interface arrived and the show that I had had pre setup using the supplied light profile worked spot on - running the lights in 5ch mode setup - so happy that just ordered another 8 lights from the suppler to get rid of all my non LED fixtures.
