Q Light Controller+

Hello!
I am using Mac OS 10.10.4
and QLC 4.10.5a

I have a Chauvet Stage Designer running into the DMX1 input of the Mk2.
When the hardware is plugged into USB and the software is not on, the passthrough works.

As soon as the program starts, the passthrough cuts off.
I have tried to run the input to a different universe, without any difference.

I know a Joystick icon should appear when the receive is working properly, as I've seen it with a MIDI controller.
I have tested the Stage designer directly to the lights to ensure it is outputting signal.

Plugging the stage designer in via midi has odd results, and I would like to reserve the midi for another controller.

Any remedy to fix the passthrough function???

interesting note:
If I plug in the hardware, with the software not on, and set values to the Chauvet,
These values will come up on the software when I turn it on,
however the software is no longer responsive to the board after it receives the first values.
