Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum so please correct me if needed.

I wondered if anyone may have the fixture definition for the High End Systems Studio Beam pc - XXHISBPC? I've looked through the ones on the forum but did't see it listed.

I've attached a link to the manual if there is anyone able to produce one as this looks way to complected for me to attempt.

https://www2.highend.com/pub/products/a ... manual.pdf

Many thanks

Bob

Hi,
I made my try.
Standard protocol mode is very complex, so I couldn't set all descriptions, in case of the color wheels I just wrote "see manual" because there are so many functions with the same value, depending on what other values are set. Maybe someone else knows how to solve this? Flat protocol mode is complete.

Hi,

Is the problem that they are old fixtures and as such are based on a different fixture protocol?

They sort of work using Freasys fixture definition that he kindly supplied but not very well.

Many thanks
Bob

Hello,
I took everything from the manual you linked. So maybe there's something wrong in the settings of the fixture? What isn't working?
Also there is a lot depending on different values on various channels... So maybe there is the problem somewhere? Unfortunately I couldn't include everything, I would have to write pages of description for every single DMX value...

Hi,

I've added as much data to the definition as I can from the manual for this definition.

Can someone please test it before I submit it for inclusion? It's probably the most difficult fixture I've come across (144 page manual, really?).

Freasy, I have two of these fixtures so I will try using the 2nd one using your definition and see if it may be the fixture. If they are both the same I'll post a list of what is happening with each control - thanks.

Boxy, I will try your definition over the weekend and let you know the outcome.

Thanks again for your help
Bob

Hi,

I've now tried both fixtures and they both are operating in the same manor.

As far as I can tell (from my very limited experience) this what is happening;

Pan & tilt - operating ok
Dim - goes through alternating colours
Shutter flat - goes through blue / yellow / white
Lamp control flat - goes through colour wheel
Cyan - White / red / blue / white
Magenta - wheel spins
Yellow - zoom
Colour function flat - not sure but seems to be similar to zoom
Beam shaping flat - strobe light effect
Zoom - dim
Frost flat - nothing
Control flat - pan or tilts in a pattern

I'm not sure if any of the above helps or not.... if this is more trouble than it's worth then it's not a major issue, they can still be used to a fashion.

Thanks

Hi, as far as I can guess:
you're using the wrong mode. Your fixture is set to Standard Protocol but you use Flat Protocol. If you try out the Standard Protocol it should work. Or change the settings of the fixture (in the fixture itself, as described in the manual) to the Flat Protocol.

Freasy,
You were spot on regarding the protocol.

All seems to be working fine for what I will be using it for.

Many thanks again Freasy & Boxy

Great news :)

@Massimo Could you check if this is fixture is on Git please? It's lost somewhere in the process.
