Flashing lights?

I am running QLC+ version 4.10.4 on a rPi2 with the Enttec Open DMX USB adapter. I have been having an issue with all of my lights blinking during shows. They act like they lose power for a brief moment, maybe a quarter of a second, then they come back on like normal. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've been having a similar issue with input on my DMXKing ultraDMx.

Every so often random channels will just peak for a split second before returning to where they were. Applying a throttle to the input in the adaptor firmware reduces the frequency of this but doesn't entirely remove it.

I've just ordered a powered USB hub to see if that makes any difference.

Im using one right now. It certainly seemed to reduce the operating temp for the rpi, but it didn't seem to do anything for the flashing. I was thinking about getting an Enttec DMX USB pro to see if the processor in there would help, but I don't really have any scientific basis for doing it. Yet.

A powered hub hasn't fixed this for me either.

Could this be something to do with the Enttec protocol, or the processing power of the Pi?

Additionally, I've noticed that channels outside the range I'm inputting (1-24) are also getting random DMX values but are not jumping as much.

You might need to search the word "flicker" in this forum.
The issue is related to cheap adapters and it has been discussed a lot of times before.
I think this is one of the first thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6861

Links to documentation are outdated there. This is the updated one (see 4.5): http://www.qlcplus.org/docs/parameterstuning.html

Hi, sorry if I'm late but i found a solution.
For me the lights were blinking because I didn't have a DMX terminator in the end of the chain.
I recomend also a powered usb hub so the dmx usb adapter won't fail.
Here is a link on how to make a DMX terminator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j91YQnXB1JE
Hope I help
