Creating and saving a scene with VC

Hello all,

This is my first post here but I have been touring the forums for quite some time, finding all kinds of answers that I needed. I have found myself in a complicated situation now and I know of a way to achieve my ultimate goal but i have an idea of a faster way to achieve it but im not so sure if the faster way can actually be done. So here goes nothing...

I use an akai apc 40 with a touchscreen computer for live lighting, laptop for programming. My show file I have created is set up to where I can control many different indiviual aspects of my lights with VC and midi, including mover EFX, color, strobe, etc. What I am trying to do is use VC (midi) to create a certain scene (with EFX running and chasers etc.) and then somehow save that scene to a button to be pressed in VC. The reason is that in a live situation I would have to press 6 or so buttons to get the lights I want running when I only want to press one. I know I can do this by creating a scene in VC and then creating a collection with all the pieces that I used in VC, but im wondering if there is an way to just save my scene and make it into a button?

Show file is attached so you can see what im talking about.

Thanks!

Hi,
Not sure if it does all you want, but there is a 'Dump DMX' button, top right of qlc screen.
This will dump the dmx values of the scene to a chaser, button or slider, or just save the scene, or overwrite an existing scene.
You can select all channels or pick and choose which channels to save.

Hope it helps.

Well the problem with that is it doesn't save the motion of my moving heads juse specifically where they are positioned at the time I press dump DMX. I need it to record all the active scenes, chasers, efx, etc into some sort of cue

Sorry I didn't reply... in the middle of a show atm and a bit busy.

I don't think there is a way of doing what you want with a single button push.
Just got to set up chasers/collections/sequences by hand, and set buttons to them.
Best I can offer.
