Sorry was on phone with Microsoft multiple times over the course of 4 hours trying to get product keys reinstated. Finally had to just start from scratch and install XP then upgraded to 7 pro now its getting updates for windows 10 pro. Then should be able to test. Since I had to do all this using 32bit to authenticate product key,Ill test with 32bit win 10 and let you know. Then I'll install the 64bit. I remember now why I don't use windows This what they told me I had to do unless I wanted to buy window 10 outright for $150+ I told them they were crazy.
Long story short Im still working on it. Sorry it's taken so long.

Man don't be sorry, I really appreciate your willingness to hang in there to help me. I am hoping that out of this we will learn something that will help either the product or other users.
Hi folks. Well while I wait for further feedback I have to ask a couple of more questions. I have seen through monitoring the network port that messages coming from TouchOSC are getting to the laptop but don't appear to be seen in QLC.
What am I missing here? Doesn't the TouchOSC layout have to be mapped to items that exist in my show layout in QLC? When I look at the MIX16 layout (profile) in QLC the channel numbers all look very high numerically. What does that mean? How can there be channel numbers higher than 512 within any universe? I feel like I must be getting close with this but there seems to be one missing link I am missing somewhere. Can someone explain how the controls from TouchOSC get mapped directly to controls I require in QLC for my particular show?
OMG I am soooooo embarrassed. I was looking in the wrong place for the joystick. It is there just like you've been trying to point me to. I am so sorry for the work done to help me get this far that may have not been necessary.
Soooo, now I have new questions:
1. What is the right procedure to map the controls to the particular controls in my show? Do I use the TouchOSC editor to edit the layout? If so, what is the correct format of the control commands? Is it like in the QLC doc (Universe - 1, DMX, Channel - 1)?
2. On the TouchOSC layout can I put labels of some sort so that the person using the panel will know what they're pressing?
OK, making progress now. I can get the profile to automatically recognize movements from the TouchOSC panel and log them into the profile. But what do I do with them to map them to the controls in my show? That's the last missing step, along with wanting to know how to put labels on the controls in the TouchOSC panel.

P.S. One other question: I noticed that within TouchOSC the MIX16 layout is listed not in the iPad layout section but in the iPhone layout section. Does that matter since I am using it on an iPad. Just thought I'd ask. I guess once I get the last piece of the puzzle solved here I will be free to create whatever profiles and layouts I want but first I need to just get this mapping part down.

TouchOSC GUI is all configured in TouchOSC editer. The Device formate is also configured in touchOSC and there is predefined iPad layout that you can choose. But depending on what iPad you are using iPhone layout maybe better suited.

Im glad thats working for you because win10 failed install.
1) Create a widget in Virtual Console
2) Right click on widget and select widget properties
3) Click auto detect button under external input
4) move control on touchOSC (you should see input universe and input channel auto fill)
5) click ok
6) Switch to operation mode
7) move control on touchOSC (you should see widget in VC change with TouchOSC)

1. When I move the TouchOSC control the slider on the virtual console is jumping all over the place. Can you explain how to fix that?
2. Can I only control things on the virtual console or can I control a specific dmx channel that's not specifically referenced on the virtual console?
3. How do I label TouchOSC controls?
4. Once I input an external control value, I don't seem to be able to remove it. Can it be removed from the widget properties?

[Edit]
If your widgets are tied to multiple things the HTP or LTP sometimes can cause this to happen. But there are other thing that can cause this also. So it would be quicker to diagnose this issue if I could see project.

control is whatever is mapped to a particular widget.
EBDS wrote:3. How do I label TouchOSC controls?
In touchOSC editor right click on the main edit window and you'll see options for Label H & Label V

Instead of clicking auto detect, click chose and none.

The slider I am having trouble with, just because it's the first one I tried, is the Brightness slider on 4BAR TRI panel. It controls the dimmer on both of my 4BAR tri fixtures.
