Hey. Hey,
I hope I have a simple question.
Let's say I have scene A, which is in solo-frame, and scene B, which is out of frame. I have both scenes set to fade-in and fade-out at 1s. Both control the position of the moving head.
When I turn on scene A in solo-frame, the position comes up smoothly. As soon as I turn on the out-of-frame scene, the transition is smooth again. However, when I turn the out-of-frame scene off, the transition back to the still active in-frame scene is abrupt regardless of fade-out times.
Is there any solution to smoothly transition back to the active scene in solo-frame?
If it's not obvious what I'm after, I'll attach a sample workspace tomorrow.
Thank you all for any advice.
While we got lost in the discussion ^^ I re-read your request and indeed, this should be made possible.
You can create an escape from normal, but you cannot get back without the audience noticing. Verse - chorus - verse - chorus - *bridge* override normal - chorus. The bridge to 3th chorus will be too abrupt to look nice on stage.

I have made a patch for this.
Since touching these core parts is very risky and regressions are always around the corner, who is willing to test it?
Just tell me which OS version you need

Hi Massimo,
is it a general ltp fix or a case specific one?
I'm interested if it corrects the ltp handling, like posted here:
http://qlcplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16181
I believe that we need only a coerent logic, we've already several tools to control fade/not fade parameters together.
eg. collection if we need to mix a "snap" cue with a fade one.
If this is the case I'll test it with pleasure, OS linux.

Thanks Fredje for the task ;) downloaded.
And thanks Massimo, I'm quite busy for few days so probably I'll give a feedback only during the next week.
In the meantime someone else willing to join?
If needed we could also exchange our tests between us before reporting them.

@Sidlomydlo
can you try the LTP.appimage? your show should work correctly now, if you don't use linux you can try it with an Ubuntu live image.

Is this a confirmation that the change is OK?

I haven't tested a full show but it seems good, I haven't found drawbacks.

I love it Massimo, now LTP is correct.
Here a test file - my egg for Fredje - with different positions and zoom: qlc+ is able to deal correctly with the LTP command order so when you release a function it fades back to the last active one.
The buttons are programmed to snap the zoom - with a collection - the colors are htp so they will mix when you've 2 functions active.
Enjoy!

Massimo,
after this great fix, it will be an easy cake to implement the efx fade out, isn't it?
:)

@Giacomo; unfortunately it isn't.
LTP fade out is generic, while EFX fade out is specific, since the EFX must continue to work with all its settings and scale pan/tilt(+fine) channels down
I need some more time to do it

I'll commit the change later today.
Then I'll build some test versions for everyone to test
Thanks

@giacomo
I have been quite busy last weeks, but now managed to get back to playing with QLC+ and I am super happy there is new patch for this case.
Tomorrow I’ll try it on Windows.
Thank you very much!

Tried my sample scene as well as my whole live production scene and everything seems to be working just fine, fade-out now works!
Thanks, Massimo!

At the same time, I totally agree with giacomo on this one (that it would be great, not easy
) Possibility to fade-in and out EFX (so the movement from static scene to EFX start point would be smooth) is the best QLC+ update I’ve ever dreamed of.
Right now I have script that turns on scene, then waits certain time to scene fade-in and then starts EFX, which kind of works for smooth start, but no way for EFX end, so its far from ideal.
I’m also willing to help you with testing when you have done something about it.
Thanks!
