I'm working on a fixture definition for a Nanlite Pavotube t8-7x

it has a many dmx modes, one of which is very complex, but gives the most flexibility with the light.

In this mode, there channel 2 is a "mode" slider to put the light in CCT, HSI, RGBW, or one of two FX banks (global fx, or pixel based fx). The non-FX modes are easy to map. However, when it's set to either of the FX banks, channel 3 them becomes something of a "sub-menu" for the different fx available.

Currently, the way aliases work, I can't create aliases unless the channel containing the aliases is already assigned to the mode. So, I can't figure out how to assign the aliases for the second FX bank, since it itself is only getting assigned because of an alias on channel 2.

Is there any way around this? I tried putting the second fx bank on another channel, just so it's available in the aliases window, but that led to strange behavior when opened the fixture up in qlc so that doesn't seem to be the way to do it.
