running QLC+ 4.13.1
Mac os Mojave 10.14.6
I have searched all over for how to add a custom fixture to Qlc+. On a mac you are suppose to add it to the folder: Home/library/application support/qlc+.
This folder does not exist for me. the only place i can find a fixture folder is if i go to applications, right click qlc+, show package contents, resources/fixtures.
when i add a fixture to this folder it does not show up in the program when i launch, ive tried rebooting finder, rebooting my computer and reinstalling Qlc+. none of these things have fixed the issue.
Any help would be much appreciated!
cannot load custom fixtures

It's not "Home"...it's "$HOME" which is a totally different concept.
From a terminal, type
as indicated in the documentation. Then type
THAT's the user folder.
You already have it. You don't need to add it as you have written.
From a terminal, type
Code: Select all
cd $HOME/Library/Application\\ Support/QLC+
Code: Select all
pwd
You already have it. You don't need to add it as you have written.

then share the fixture here so we can have a look
It's probably not completed. Does it pass the validator?

So this is my command history from terminal and where it led me, the whole library folder ended up being hidden under my username directory. To clarify, the fixture folder didn't have anything in it, so I'm assuming its just for custom fixtures.
Ephrems-MBP:QLC+ ephremmanly$ cd $HOME/Library/Application\ Support/QLC+
Ephrems-MBP:QLC+ ephremmanly$ pwd
/Users/ephremmanly/Library/Application Support/QLC+
I put the fixture definition in:
/Users/ephremmanly/Library/Application Support/QLC+/fixtures
I just put the fixture through the validator and it passed with no errors.
It's still not showing up in the program.
I have attached the fixture definition for you to look at.

I downloaded the QXF file, put in my User Library and i could select it.
So the problem (of not showing up) is not caused by the Fixture Definition.
This does not mean that the Fixture Definition is without errors.
In the 20 Channels Mode and 32 Channels Mode there are 4 heads defined, but in both definitions (of the 4 heads) the Level Channels (Intensity Pod 1, Intensity Pod 2, Intensity Pod 3 and Intensity Pod 4) are not included.
This means that in QLC+ Fixture Monitor Intensity Pod 1 will act as a Master Level Channel for all Pods and Intensity Pod 2, 3, and 4 will be ignored.
The Fixture definition of the Yorkville LP-Led4X has been posted twice on this forum: the first time in 2018 by Dave Crewe (dimensions are missing, but the 4 heads are OK) and the second time in 2023 by Fede 79 (with Dimensions, but incomplete definition of the 4 heads).
This one should work fine:

Sorted the issue out, the only way I got it to load in the program wwas to open the fixture in the definition editor, click save as and save it to the folder where the program will look for it.
Thanks for all who helped!
