Is there a way to create a button that acts on te tap-rhytmn by switching lights (scene) on/and off. So tap means on, release means off. So you can tap the rhythm in stead of the beats, there fore the lights will lit up in sync with the tapped rhythm.

Only way to do this would be using a midi sequencer I believe. Nice idea though.

ehhm ... a 2 step chaser with an on- and an off-scene.
A timer widget with the tap button enabled and its speed bound to the hold duration of the chaser?
Tapping in the rhythm will alter the speed of your chaser... No?

Could it be that Robert is just trying to describe a Flash Button?

If you go to the properties of a Button, you can set up the button to work as Toggle (= Latching) or Flash (= Momentary).
Have a look at "On Button Press" overhere: https://docs.qlcplus.org/v4/virtual-console/button

I thought he was referring to creating a "rhythm" for the lights mid show. I was envisioning something like this:

Where you tap a button in a certain way, and it repeats the way you tapped it.

If there was a wish of mine: a stomp function: momentarily stop all moving elements while keeping all intensities untouched.

Oh that's easy just add a preset to your speed dial which has duration set to infinite.

It does, have a look at this example:

It is a bit confusing: if you look at the right X-Y pad, it seems that when you UnPause your movements (go back from Infinity to the previous value) it will not pick up at the same positions, but if you look at the Left X-Y Pad it shows that it actually does.

All in all we are getting way off topic: maybe Fredje should share what he has learned in a new post in Community. :) ;)
Feel free to use my example.
