Ask a generic question about the usage of QLC+, not related to a particular operating system

Good Afternoon,
I Am currently working on a project that has a lot of fixtures. It's a very time consuming assignment to add 7 universes of fixtures by hand. Is there a way to import fixtures out of capture? my fixtures are already in there with DMX values. I thought maybe there is a way to export fixtures out of capture and then import them into QLC.

Hope someone has a solution for this :ugeek:

Have a look at Export and Import in the Fixture Manager (https://docs.qlcplus.org/v4/fixture-manager).

Export: Exports the list of fixtures currently available on a QLC+ project into a file with extension .qxfl. This file can be used afterward with the import functionality.
Import: Imports a fixture list file (.qxfl) into QLC+. Please note that fixture addresses conflicts are not handled, so it is suggested to use this functionality on an empty project.

If you open the QXFL with a Text Editor (like Notepad) you can even edit the file (e.g. rename Fixtures or delete a block of Fixtures ) or Copy-Paste from one file to another.

There is no existing solution to import Capture export files directly, to my knowledge.
You will have to creat some kind of translation script to alter the data into the QLC+ .qxfl format...
