Fixture effect value not restored on next cue

Hard making the subject for this question...

I'm trying to create my custom fixture definition the "right" way. In my fixture, channel 6 determines either normal operation (0-15), or different capabilities/effects that determine the meaning of channel 7. I found I could get it to work by defining channel 6 as a Value/Intensity, but not as a Custom/Effect. The problem is that when exiting the scene with an effect like pulsing, channel 6 is not returned to a 0 value, and therefore the pulsing continues and the following scenes in the cue list don't have any affect. I tried mimicing the Chauvet Q6 USB fixture, creating aliases for each capability of channel 6, but same thing happened.

Is there a trick to getting channel 6 back to 0 when exiting a scene? Is it something in the definition, or ?

Thanks. I'm a real beginner with this.

Apologies to the group... I just solved my own problem. I thought I was being smart by selecting only the "necessary" channels in the scene creation, but the lack of that effect channel on subsequent scenes meant that it never got reset. I went back and added all the channels to all the scenes, and now it works fine. I discovered my problem by adding a blackout scene, and that made me realize what I did wrong.
