This past March I started a new project with QLC+. An association and leisure centre for young people in my town asked me if I wanted to be the new technician of the small theatre they manage.
The theatre is equipped with a large number of dimmers, with PAR 64 focus and PC. There are also 12 LED Cameo, 4 Cameo ThunderWash. The lights until now were controlled by a laptop with Sunlite 2 device and Sunlite Suite 2 Suite from Nicolaudie. I have contributed my ArtNet and DMX USB devices, they had a NanoKontrol2 that they had never used, I have installed too a WiFi AP Router in case one day I want to remotely control QLC+.
The last year they had invested in improvements for the theater and bought a MIdas M32R Live sound desk, they do plays where they usually play and sing live. With the M32R I have done some tests connecting it via Midi USB with QLC+ using the faders.
I have already been able to try QLC+ at a festival of young people who programmed a couple of weeks ago and at the end of April they have scheduled a play for children, an adaptation of Le Petit Prince of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
I will inform you of the progress, adventures and misadventures with the use of QLC+ in this new project in my live.
Many thanks to all QLC+ contributors.

What workflow did you use for the live theater use-case? I've been told that the recommended workflow is Scene > Chase > Virtual Console, but I don't know enough about Consoles to understand how to create one from nothing, and my understanding (probably wrong) is that chases are most often synchronized to music / statically timed performances. I've been using the Simple Desk because it most closely resembles the physical light boards I've actually used.
TIA for your input,

The plays have scenes, changes during scenes, transitions between scenes. In this play I created both complete scenes and basic scenes for groups of fixtures, for colors, etc.
Then I created collections composed of scenes from different groups of fixtures and different groups of colors. Each scene or collection is a state of light at a certain time in the work, whether it is a scene or a transition from one scene to another.
To a chaser I added the scenes and collections in the order of the script of the play. I added this chaser to a cue list in the virtual console. The cue list allows you to sequentially play the scenes following the script by pressing a button or a key or a side fader. In addition, in the virtual console I usually have faders and buttons to activate a light effect at a given time or play a sound effect or a music.
The workflow I recommend is to create scenes and collections according to needs. Add the scenes to a chaser in the desired order. In the virtual console create the necessary controls to reproduce chaser and other scenes and effects.
Avoid the use of the simple desk in live performance, the simple desk overrides the channels values used in the scenes.
