Can the Fixture definition editor be changed so that there is some notice that the 'Acts On' setting is only used in specific cases and has to be set to '-' as a default?
While debugging another user's project today, I had 4 custom fixtdefs to be altered... because of the used 'acts on' selected setting...

The most common mistake/misunderstanding is to make a channel "act on itself".
If you don't provide the possibility to select that channel in the pop up screen of the Fixture Definition Editor, it would already make a difference.
