Hello everyone! I want to connect MultiPlay and QLC+. Let me explain it from the beginning:
For those who don't know, MultiPlay is the free version of Qlab, used to launch audio and image cues for a live performance. It is very very useful, I recommend it.
Since MultiPlay can send MIDI and QLC+ can receive it, I thought it would be great to be able to change the lights when I hit "GO" on MultiPlay. So you can launch music, images, and lights, using just the spacebar!
Having both programs on the laptop (QLC in the background, I have an iPad connected to the QLC server via LAN for if I need to "busk" at any moment). To connect both programs, I'm using a "midi virtual cable" called LoopBe, but I don't know how to proceed next.
How would you do this?
In the 1st image you can see how MultiPlay sends MIDI messages. On the 2nd image you can see the section where you can write the MIDI channel to assign it to the button (since it is a virtual cable you can't "automatically detect" it), but I don't get what do I have to write exactly...
What do I have to write exactly to assign a MIDI channel?

Hmm. I think you may need to change the midi settings for that universe to accept note on/off messages rather than CC.
You should be able to automatically detect these notes when you fire the cue. LoopBe should be fine with that.

Have you searched this forum for the term "multiplay"? there are quite some messages dealing with this, and explaining how to do it. It's basically the same procedure no matter whether you use a MIDI hardware controller or a program like QLab, Multiplay, Linux Show Player, or a DAW MIDI track.
Once the MIDI connection is working, it would be easier to just use auto detect like Yestalgia says, not manually writing channel info to the dialog liike you seem to try.
Click Auto detect, then in Multiplay fire the MIDI cue as defined, and qlc should detect it. For MIDI note messages, make sure you send a matching MIDI note off right after the Note on.

[whisper mode on] and create an input profile... this will make your life very easy afterwards knowing what multiplay command is used for what function in QLC+ [whisper mode off]

Sorry again, I've found more posts on the forum about this, I've been reading other forums and searching on youtube, but I can't figure out how to do this on my QLC.
When I double click on my LoopBe Input, I don't see any option with "Note On/Off". There is an option for Note Velocity (I don't know if that's the same since i'm not used to midi. I tried it and it does not work) and two more options for CC and Program Change. Since I can't see the Note On/Off option there, I tried with the Control Change option, I selected it both in MultiPlay and QLC+, but anyway it does not work. I trigger the cue in MultiPlay but I can't see the joystick in QLC. Maybe I'm doing this wrong. 1. My MIDI Patch in MultiPlay is set correctly.
2. Maybe the "command" "channel" and "data" fields in my multiplay message are wrong?
3. Maybe the problem is with the MIDI settings? (the first image)
I've been trying to figure this out for hours now searching information everywhere and I don't know what happens.

Have you tried with the "Omni channel"? (in QLC+ it's channel 1-16)

No, I didn't know that was an option. And that is working now, thank you so much Massimo!
